The School of Prophets
What if the prophetic voice of Scripture isn’t just something to study, but something to practice? The School of Prophets is designed to help us listen more deeply—to Scripture, to the Holy Spirit, and to the cries and hopes of our city. Each gathering will be a 2.5-hour communal experience that will engage:
Prophetic Imagination
We’ll begin with a devotional-style conversation centered on a prophetic passage from the Bible. Not a lecture—more like a holy wrestling match. Together, we’ll ask what this text meant then, and what it might be daring us to do now.
Listening & Discernment
We’ll practice spiritual attentiveness through guided exercises and Spirit-led engagements, creating space to hear what the Holy Spirit may be speaking today—to us personally, to our church, and to Jackson.
Embodied Response
Prophecy doesn’t end in ideas. It moves toward action. Participants will be invited to respond creatively or practically—through art, writing, prayerful action steps, justice-oriented projects, or other tangible expressions that carry the prophetic word into everyday life, church life, and the streets of our city.
This gathering intentionally weaves together several of 1208’s emerging values and serves as a launching point into our weekly Spare Oom worship nights, where these ideas can continue to be processed late into the night.

Homeless Count
To secure the funding our city needs to care for people experiencing homelessness, we first have to know how many neighbors we are serving. That’s why we invite you to join the Jackson community for the annual Point-In-Time (PIT) Count.
At the church, you (and your group) will receive:
A map of a specific area to survey
Simple forms to record basic information
Supply bags to offer to those you encounter
After completing your assigned area, return to the church to turn in your forms and any remaining supplies.
Thank you for being part of this important and eye-opening morning. The more volunteers who participate, the more accurate our count will be—helping us better understand the scope of homelessness in our city, raise awareness, and unlock vital funding for the local organizations working tirelessly to serve our unhoused neighbors.

Reveal 2025: The Creative Spirit
Before the tabernacle was ever built, God’s chosen architect was filled “with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs" (Exodus 31:3–4). The same Spirit who hovered over the waters at creation, who inspires prophets and poets, and who will one day raise us into new creation, still works creatively through us today.
Throughout Scripture and history, the Spirit’s fingerprints are seen in inspired works—Jesus’ parables that continue to shape imaginations, Tolkien’s Middle-earth and Lewis’ Narnia that point beyond themselves, songs that stir hearts, images that capture the divine, and stories on page or screen that bring us to tears.
As we open ourselves to the Creative Spirit, we discover that God’s artistry is not limited to “artsy” people. The gospel takes on color, sound, and story through every life surrendered to Him. In this year’s Reveal, we’ll step into the Spirit’s inspiration—learning how to let His creativity flow through us so that the beauty of God’s truth can be made manifest in the world.

Good Friday Worship Service
Join us on Good Friday as we gather in the quiet reverence of Christ’s final hours. Through Scripture, worship, and reflection, we will remember the road to the cross—the sorrow, the sacrifice, and the fierce, unrelenting love that held Him there.
This service invites us into the mystery of a God who chose suffering for the sake of redemption, who met death with mercy, and whose love speaks even in silence. It is a time to sit with the weight of that love, to remember, and to wait in hope.
All are welcome to this sacred evening of worship.
